Learning outcome 1

Early in the term when revising I would not really look back to what I originally wrote. My second and so on drafts were just continuing what I had previously wrote in my first draft. Now I go through and re-read really thinking about the comments I received in peer review to change and better what I have written. I think over the course I became better and better at this. In the beginning I really struggled to realize why it was so important and vital to my work re-reading and correcting was. However, now looking back I see a huge difference in the outcomes of my last papers compared to the first one I completed. Sometimes in my original writing since I was just getting ideas out at the start, I would not make sense one hundred percent of the time. Peer reviewing is really where I started to realize this because it forced me to go and look back at feedback and look through my paper. This was incredibly helpful because after I reread it, I wouldn’t always catch the mistakes and corrections of others. What would make sense to me might not make sense to everyone else so through revision I learned how to adjust to that. Although I am not the best writer in the world, I can say for myself I feel that the revision processes I learned throughout this course changed me as a writer. It changed not only my writing style but the outcome of the work I was producing.
