The chosen work sample shows how I use my writing and integrate my sources into my writing using MLA format. I introduce the titles and authors in the introduction then continue throughout my essay referring to them by their last names. After using a quote from their writing, I used parenthesis to provide the page and paragraph it came from, and which essay I am referring to. This helps so if the reader wants to go to the essay, I used they know where to find it and so they know it is not my own words. My most common error in this was simply forgetting to do it. It is probably the simplest thing on the paper but so easy for me to forget. This is because I would get caught up in trying to make sure I have all the substance in my writing. I would be way more focused on my explanation quotes and introductions especially because that is mostly what I was given corrections on during peer review. When I get distracted it is hard for me to focus on little things rather than just the big picture. So even while revising I was never thinking about. A comment I wished I had received during peer review would have been to remember this part of the formatting because looking back it’s not something I noticed in many papers. But now moving forward I am more aware that this is something I need to include and be aware of because it is a very important part of my formatting.
